Camshaft sensor problems on 3v 5.4 F150 Forum. Ok I have 2004 F-150 Supercrew with a 5.4 and I have a weird problem; it's throwing a code bank A camshaft sensor. The tough thing to figure out is the truck normally runs fine when the sensor is unplugged but also runs fine when bank A sensor is plugged in and bank B is unplugged. If you plug both in though it runs real rough.

Cam Shaft Position Sensor Failure Causing Engine Failure in 5.4. It started with bank 1 cam shaft position sensor error message (P0340 and P0344). I replaced the sensor and noticed the old one looked liked it had been.
